Mark Massey

ABOUT

Mark Massey has practiced law in California since 1995. He began as a prosecutor in the Office of the Los Angeles County Counsel, but he resigned from that office in 1999 to open a sole practice.  Over the years, whether as a sole practitioner or a law partner at Komanapalli Massey, LLP, which he and his partner opened in 2010, Mark gained a vast array of knowledge and experience in multiple areas of law. But when the opportunity arose, in 2018, to try something entirely new and different, to join a friend and colleague’s Workers Compensation defense firm as a trial attorney, he jumped at the chance.  He has never looked back.  Mark has since worked hard to increase his knowledge or Workers’ Compensation law and to hone his skills at practicing every facet of Workers’ Compensation law, from resolving or trying lien or medical-legal claims to settling applicant’s cases-in-chief or conducting trials on the issues that variously arise in them, when settlement was not an option. When his friend decided to retire and close his law firm completely in December 2024, Mark bid him a fond adieu, and then contacted another colleague, a Partner at Hanna Brophy, who had encouraged him a couple of years prior, to join that firm.  Mark’s loyalty to his current employer, friend, colleague and mentor kept him from taking a position at Hanna Brophy at the time; but when the Hanna Brophy partner told him the offer was still open, he seized the opportunity to join that very prestigious, well-known, and well-respected Workers’ Compensation Defense law firm in January, 2025 – and he intends, as usual, never to look back.
