Gaaret Marinelli

ABOUT

Gaaret is an associate attorney in our San Diego office. He earned his undergraduate degree from New York University. While in college, he was a member of the NYU Men’s Wrestling Team, earning Academic All-American honors.

After graduating from NYU, Gaaret attended the University of San Diego School of Law. While in law school, Gaaret had the privilege of spending two semesters as a judicial extern for the Honorable Andrew G. Schopler at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. As a judicial extern, Gaaret provided research and drafted judicial opinions on various issues, ranging from the award of an individual’s disability benefits all the way to multi-billion dollar class action suits. He also helped update a judicial treatise for magistrate judges on the varying evidentiary showings required before law enforcement officers can obtain electronically stored information.

While at USD, Gaaret was a member of the VICAM Team, where he studied international commercial law and arbitration and competed in mock arbitrations involving international contract disputes. He was also the co-captain of the USD Intramural Softball team “The Honey Badgers,” compiling an impressive 3-30 record. He has found much more success as an attorney than as a softball captain.

Gaaret defends insurance carriers and self-insured employers in every area of workers’ compensation law.
